I have posted a commentary on the first half of the first section of T-19.IV: "The Obstacles to Peace: First Obstacle: The Desire to Get Rid of It." We'll begin study of this section tomorrow, 1/26/16.
I've uploaded the next commentary, on T-19.III, "The Unreality of Sin." We will study this section next week or the week after, depending on how far we get in Section II tomorrow (1/5/2016).
Don't forget that we are all going out for lunch after the study group, to McMenamin's Kennedy School, 5736 N.E. 33rd Avenue, Portland, OR 97211. We will leave the church shortly after 12:30, so lunch will probably be around 1PM. I have uploaded a commentary on T-19.II, "Sin versus Error." I expect to study it on January 5. Our meeting tomorrow will cover Section I, paragraphs 1 to 6; we will cover the rest of the section the following week.
We will not be meeting on December 22 or December 29. Meetings will resume on January 5. I have uploaded a commentary on T-19.I.7–16, "Healing and Faith." I expect to study it on December 15.
We will not be meeting on December 22 or December 29. Meetings will resume on January 5. COMMENTARY ON T-19.I.1-6, "THE ATTAINMENT OF PEACE," HAS BEEN UPLOADED. holiday schedule.11/23/2015 I have uploaded a commentary on T-19.I.1–6, "The Attainment of Peace." I expect to begin study of this long section on December 8 and conclude it with paragraphs 7 to 16 on December 15.
We will not be meeting on December 22 or December 29. Meetings will resume on January 5. I have uploaded a commentary on T-18.IX, "The Two Worlds." This commentary has three appendices; enjoy! We will probably begin study of this long section on November 24 and conclude it on December 1, since it has 14 paragraphs.
I've uploaded the commentary for Text Chapter 18, Section VIII, "The Little Garden." This is a long section. We'll at least begin it tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015. I'm still working on the commentary for the following section.
Due to a conflict for meeting space, we cannot meet in the Chapel tomorrow morning (11/3). We’ll be in the main sanctuary, up front. We’ll be continuing with our detailed coverage of “I Need Do Nothing," probably finishing on 11/10. (The conflict, by the way, is that my wife, Peggy, will be teaching a meditation class in the Chapel tonight and tomorrow morning.)
The following week, on 11/10, our meeting will have to end by noon rather than 12:30 because I have a plane to catch at 3 PM! Peggy and I are leaving on a 5-day trip to Salt Lake City, We need to hustle so we can grab lunch at the airport. I have posted a commentary on T-18.VII, "I Need Do Nothing."
The study group at Unity of Portland resumes this Tuesday morning at 10:30 until 12:30 PM. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you! I am going to be doing a weekend workshop based on the same section for which I just posted the commentary, T-18.VII. The workshop will be held in British Columbia on October 17 and 18. For details about the workshop, please visit the special website set up for the purpose. My plan is to present most of the material for the workshop here in Portland in our study group. This means that we will be spending something like five weeks on this one section of the Text. The sessions will be quite different from our usual read-and-discuss format, and will include more activities like small groups, journalling, and times of meditation. This will serve two purposes: first, I will get a trial run through my workshop material, and second, you will get the benefit of the workshop without having to make a trip to Canada. Of course, you are welcome to come to Canada as well! |
