I'm excited because I have finally begun work on the last three chapters of the Text, for which I originally wrote commentary back in 2006-2007. I am updating all the references so there are ones for both the FIP edition and the CE edition, reformatting to match what I've been using lately, and running the commentary through the grammar checking software, Grammarly. It's all going fairly fast, so it won't be long before I have commentary on the website for the entire Text!

I've posted the commentary for T-28.VII, "The Ark of Safety." We'll be going over this later. On Sept. 8 we will be covering T-28.III. An email message will be sent out early in September with the link for Zoom.
Please be aware that I will be unavailable one Tuesday in September, the 22nd. I will be attending the Unity Regional conference (via Zoom, of course). I've posted the commentary for T-28.VI, "The Secret Vow." We'll be going over this later. On Sept. 8 we will be covering T-28.III.
Please be aware that I will be unavailable one Tuesday in September, the 22nd. I will be attending the Unity Regional conference (via Zoom, of course). Or should I say, "re-Zooms on September 8"? 😁
It looks as though we are in for continuing social distancing for the foreseeable future, at least until early next year. The medical authorities say that the earliest we can expect a vaccine for COVID-19 is January 2021, and deploying it to most of the population will take a fair amount of time after that. And that's the optimistic estimate. So I am planning on holding the study group virtually, on Zoom, until it is safe again to gather in person. Suppose I can find a good way to do it, even after in-person meetings are possible. In that case, I'd like to continue to offer the study group online to people who cannot attend in person. In that September 8 meeting, we will pick up where we left off, beginning with the Text Chapter 28, Section III, "The Feast of Plenty." (That's "The Agreement to Join" in the FIP edition.) In June, we covered the first 3 paragraphs of this section, but after a 2-month hiatus, I plan to start with Paragraph 1 again. I've had a good summer so far, and am writing commentary now on Section VI of Chapter 28. I should complete the chapter this month and begin editing the commentaries on Chapters 29, 30, and 31 that I wrote back in 2006 and 2007. Because those were written using the FIP edition, I need to add references based on the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) we are now using. That takes a lot of time. There are also some differences in the wording of the Text (based on the editor's study of the original shorthand notes). I'll revise my comments accordingly. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again! This evening I expect to receive a new webcam that should offer improved video from my end. I'm excited by what it will enable me to do. Blessings, Allen I've had many inquiries about the availability of my Workbook Companion books for A Course in Miracles. Many people seem to think that because amazon.com does not have new copies available, and some unscrupulous people are trying to sell used copies at an astronomical rate, that the books are out of print.
They are not and never have been out of print. You can purchase a set of the books from the publisher, The Circle of Atonement. This URL link should take you to the right place in your web browser: https://coa-store.org/collections/frontpage/products/workbook-companion-2-volume-bundle Thank you for your interest in my books. It is always encouraging to me to hear from people like you! Blessings, Allen Watson You can find my commentaries on the ACIM Text here: http://www.allen-watson.com/allens-text-commentaries.html As I do every year, I'm taking a summer break to get ahead on my commentary writing. The study group will resume the Tuesday after Labor Day. Whether that will be live and in person, or via Zoom, remains to be seen. I'll announce it here and to my email list before the time.
I am continuing to write commentary over the summer and will be uploading them to this website ("Allen's Text Commentaries" page). I won't be announcing each upload in my blog or via email, since the weekly meetings are not taking place. When I announce the first September meeting, I'll include a link to the relevant commentary or commentaries for that week. I hope to complete Chapter 28 over the summer, and possibly beyond that. I continue to upload Workbook commentaries as well. Now done: 1 to 213, and 341 to 265. I'm making certain to keep ahead of the current calendar date so you won't miss any if following the calendar. Also, I'm completing both indices, by lesson number and by calendar date. I have created a second Workbook Lesson Index table, this one by calendar date. The months are there in 12 columns, with the day numbers from 1 to 30 or 31 in the column below serving as links to the lesson to be read on that date, assuming you start in on January 1.
At present the lesson files are up from 1 to 181 (end of June), and some more at the end of the year (not yet linked in the calendar). As I upload lesson files I will activate the links in both tables. I plan to stay well ahead of the current date, as I am now, so you should be able to rely on these tables for the rest of this year and beyond. I have posted a commentary on T-28.II, "Reversing Cause and Effect." It contains a 3-page addendum on the meaning and nature of creation as the Course uses the word. On Tuesday, 06/16/2020, we will continue study of Section I, "Remembering the Present," from Paragraph 9 (after a quick review of ❡ 1–8). We may get into the first few paragraphs of Section II, so try to have notes for both sections available.
I've posted the commentary on T-28.I, all fifteen paragraphs of it. This is exciting for me because I am starting in on the last chapter I have to write commentary for. The remaining chapters already have commentary I wrote back in 2006–2007. I will go over it and edit, possibly add to it, and reformat it to resemble the rest of my recent commentaries, but the bulk of the work is done.
Also: I have posted an updated commentary on T-27.XI, "The Secret of Salvation." I made a few minor edits but I've added an Addendum on the subject of "Spiritual Bypass," discussing how the "secret," "I am doing this to myself," can be mis-used if we apply it to others. I've been working diligently lately on uploading the HTML versions of my Workbook commentaries. I've got about half of them uploaded, including lesson 1 thru 90 and 107 thru 170. I'll fill in the gap next time I upload, but the currently uploaded lessons cover the lessons for the next several days through June 19 (for those who began on Jan 1), and I plan to keep ahead of the current day so you can always find the current commentary here. Click "Workbook Lesson Index" and then click the number of the lesson you want.
Eventually, I will add a second index that goes by dates. |
