I've been delayed in my writing and posting commentaries. I have been without a Mac computer for the last ten days. Only 2 years old, the screen on my MacBook Air went totally dark, requiring a trip to the Apple store for diagnosis, shipping it out for repair, and a trip back to pick it up a week later. I won't detail all that has happened since; I'll just say I've had to restore everything from a backup (Always have up-to-date backups!) and reinstall the OS. So far I have not lost any files, but I've lost most of my customizations that make work quicker for me. I'm back in business, tweaking things as I go.
ALSO, I just uploaded an updated copy of the commentary on the Manual for Teachers, Chapter 5, Sections I and II. No actual change to content, I just applied the correct formatting to the paragraphs in Section II, Paragraph 5 comments.

I've posted a new commentary on Chapter 8 of the Manual, "How Can the Perception of Orders of Difficulty in Healing Be Avoided?".
This coming Tuesday, March 1, 2022, we will resume our study via Zoom with Chapters 4 or 5 of the Manual. See the "Manual for Teachers" link on the website's menu bar on the lefthand side. I have posted commentaries on the Manual for Teachers, Chapter 5 Section III, Chapter 6 and Chapter 7.
Our Zoom study group will resume on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 10:00 AM to Noon, Pacific Time. I've posted a long commentary on Manual Chapter 5, "How Is Healing Accomplished?" It covers Sections I and II, "The Perceived Purpose of Sickness" and "The Shift in Perception." Section III, "The Function of the Teacher of God," is currently being worked on.
Delay of meetings: I am continuing the delay of our Zoom meetings until I finish this commentary plus Chapters 6 & 7 (both short). Being a caretaker/support person while my wife recuperates is still demanding a lot of my time, and recovery from shoulder surgery is slow (but steady). Things will probably be back to normal in a week or two, and by then I should be able to get ahead with writing and resume our meetings. I am still shooting for Feb. 15 or 22. I'll let you know as soon as I am certain. The third of three commentaries on Chapter 4 of the Manual for Teachers was uploaded today. The first two were uploaded earlier.
My weekly study group via Zoom is on extended hiatus while I catch up with writing while spending most of my time on other personal duties. I hope to resume in mid-February. I have uploaded a new commentary on M-4.I, "What Are the Characteristics of God's Teachers? (I.Trust)." You may download and print your own copies.
I have uploaded or reformatted the first four commentaries on the Manual for Teachers: the Introduction and Chapters 1 to 3.
CHAPTER 31 is complete as of 6/26/21. My project of commenting on the Text, begun in January of 2005, is finally complete! Today I posted the last commentary in Chapter 31: Section IX, "Choose Once Again."
The commentary on the first half of the Text was based on the edition published by the Foundation for Inner Peace. Several people have asked if I will return to the start of the Text to write new commentary on the Complete and Annotated Edition of the Course from the Circle of Atonement, which has restored a vast amount of material from Helen Schucman's notes that was omitted from the previous editions, particularly in the first five chapters. I would like to do so. I do not know if time will permit. I'm 80 and would like to relax a bit and enjoy being retired! Check back here in a few months (say September, 2021) and I will have a better idea of what I will be doing. I'm asking the Holy Spirit for guidance in the matter. I've posted the commentary on T-31.VIII, "The Savior's Vision." This is the next-to-last section of the Text. I'm currently about one third of the way through writing commentary on Section IX, the final section. I'll be posting that in the next week or so.
When our group meets again on the first Tuesday in September, we will pick up with Section VI, "Recognizing the Spirit." The format of the meeting is not clear to me yet: In person? Zoom? Both? I'll be exploring the possibilities over the summer and will keep you posted. A Commentary On T-31.VII, "Focusing on the Good," Has Been Posted.
Next week, on Tuesday, May 11, 10 AM to noon, our Zoom group will be studying the end of T-31.IV and continuing on with Section V, "The Concept of the Self." It's my intention to end the meetings at the end of May. We will finish with this, the final chapter of the Text in September. The rest of the summer, until Labor Day, we will take a break. What follows is yet to be determined. |
